An amazing garden season !

An amazing garden season !

It has been an exciting, challenging and rewarding growing season. Our gardens survived late frosts, hard droughts, and cold summer nights and shared their resilient wisdom with us !

We are learning so much about the lands our gardens inhabit, with just 1 year under our belt in this northern climate, we are proud to report almost all of our experiments in zone pushing worked wonderfully. I am a firm believer in experiments when gardening, this is how we find out so much valuable experience.

Our best harvests have to be Calendula, Chamomile and Holy Basil. As I write it is middle of October and we still have some that are  crops are going strong and giving us beautiful harvests.

We have had a few plants that did not flower until now, just days before the killing frosts, and some that will not finish at all, but possibly if they make it through the winter could show us different results next year.

My started my Marshmallow seeds in March, transplanted in early June and the flowers just stated emerging in early October ! Our Goldenrods also just started blooming this week, about 1.5 months after the wild goldenrod blooms. We are now finishing drying and storing up our herbs, and starting to prepare them into our new creations. It has been a hoot, but now it is time to rest !!
