About
Welcome and thank you for visiting our website.
My name Freya Fawn Giles. I operate Fawn and Crow Apothecary with the help of my Love Mark.
We are guest living on Wet'suwet'en territory in so called British Columbia, Canada. I grew up immersed in hippy mountain culture amongst artists, musicians and folk herbalists. My biggest teacher was my mother Rebecca.
Some of my earliest memories are with her, deep in the forest, quietly observing nature while she harvested plant medicines. I am proud to have inherited the love of the botany, wild landscapes and community care from her. She has since left this earth but guides my hands and heart in many ways.
The past 8 years I have deepened my focus on l growing food, medicinal herbs and learning bioregional herbalism. My journey into the plant path was amplified in 2017 with a debilitating back injury. I started to think of the old ways, what my sweet Ma would do or how I could help myself with plants. I decided to fully quit my job in 2020 and just focus on herbs, learning and cultivating gardens.
Living with chronic pain has given me a deep gratitude for the land and what medicines it has provided me to heal. I have found deep peace in cultivating plants, wandering the hills, valleys and mountains studying the landscapes. It is in these wild landscapes I have learned about reciprocity. The values of reciprocity, respect, balance, and connection to spirituality are central to learning from the natural world.
The offering we make are rooted in plant wisdom, and inspired by the alchemy of nature.
